Concord, NH—The New Hampshire Senate Democratic Caucus announced today that it raised over $262,000 by the first reporting deadline this election cycle, setting a new record for the most money raised by a New Hampshire legislative caucus for this filing window. The previous record of $219,000 was set by the House Democrats in 2023.
This total more than doubles what NH Senate Democrats raised during the same period last cycle, and the caucus closes the filing more than three times what it held two years ago.
“This is a massive milestone for our caucus,” said Senate Democratic Leader Rebecca Perkins Kwoka (D-Portsmouth). “We’re building the operation it will take to flip the Senate—and these numbers prove people are with us. The energy we’re feeling on the ground is real, and this record-breaking support shows just how ready the Granite State is for change.”
This represents a 500% increase in individual donations compared to this period last cycle, and over 90% of these donations are from Granite Staters. The caucus credits this rise to growing grassroots energy across the state, sparked by deep concerns about the Republican majority’s cuts in this year’s budget to housing, public education, and critical services.
“This momentum leaves no doubt: the Senate majority is up for grabs, and we intend to win it,” said Robert Christmann, executive director of the Senate Democratic Caucus. “We’re breaking records, scaling up fast, and putting the right pieces in place early. Our team is focused and we’re doing the work now to take back the majority—and hold it.”
Building on this momentum, The States Project has committed a significant off-year investment in the caucus to help grow our program and strengthen the path to the majority.
All 24 State Senate seats will be on the ballot in 2026, and Senate Democrats are already laying the groundwork to take the majority.
